Hi Chris,
The 41 (40?) is a great boat. I almost bought one but I landed on a 44
instead :)
These boats are cored with balsa, so you really need to pay attention to
aftermarket deck and hull fittings. Years ago people didn't think balsa
would wick water but it does... big time. C&C were on top of things and
isolated areas where through-hull fittings are added by reducing to solid
fiberglass. If any owners decided to start drilling holes in cored spots to
add a solar fan or electric windlass switch, etc, etc. etc. they probably
didn't dig out some core and seal it up with some epoxy. Studious owners
will have discovered this over the years when re-bedding hardware and dealt
with it so you want to look for aftermarket fittings and inquire as to how
they were done or re-done and get a good surveyor with a moisture meter.

My boat has aftermarket fittings but her deck and hull are dry. I've been
re-bedding and isolating some fittings when necessary, but I'm not overly
concerned. These are excellent boats, fast, and reliable.
