The way my RSA handicaps, 6-12 seconds slower than other RSAs, for JAM races I
rate 198 and the Catalina 27s rate 221 - I’m giving them 23 sec / nm. And my
club scores via PHRF TOT with A=715 and B=515, so boats rating <200 have time
added and boats rating >200 have time subtracted. In a one-hour race I have to
beat the Catalina 27s by two minutes else they’ll correct over me.

It’s hard to do, especially against one old guy who’s been racing on my lake
for more than 20 years. He knows where the wind will be before it gets there.
We have to sail and race perfectly, have 10+ knots breeze, and make the right
guesses to have a chance.

Cheers,
Randy
