I went through this exercise last winter.  The prices for a fabricated plastic
tank were outrageous.  I believe it was Rocco tried to match something up that
might have been close to the original but, couldn't find anything.  That would
have been cost effective if they had. The best solution is to do a group buy
and get a custom roto mold made.  But unless your buying like 10 tanks it's
really costly. I didn't want stainless because of weight and the cost was
pretty steep.  Aluminum would have been an ok solution both on price and weight
but, I didn't like all the sediment I found in the tanks when I pulled them
out.  So in the end, I went with two 52 gallon plastimo tanks from Holland
marine for like $160 each.   I can literally replace the bladders for $100 each
now with no big effort.  I can easily get in there too inspect for leaks when
the tanks are empty.  That was another issue with a big, hard tank.  Mine had
developed pin leaks that were undetected and seeping between the subflooring
and T&H, destroying it all from below.  By the time the issue was noticed, it
was already too late to save the sole.  So far,  it seems a no brainer.  A
friend of mine has been using a plastimo on his viking 33 for over a dozen
years now with no issues. That gives me some piece of mind.  The quality seemed
very good but,  what do I know...Thanks, Danny

Stus-List Water tank fabrication

I believe Ronco makes custom tanks.  They also have a large selection
of oddly shaped tanks from which to choose.  Shipping from the west coast
can be expensive (depending on where you’re located).

Hello
Listers
This
has been discussed before.   Can you recommend any plastic water tank
fabricators?  A friend if mine is looking to have one built.  He is a
welder and could make it out is stainless steel but prefers plastic
construction.
Thanks
Adam
