Different boat, but my 30 has a screw cap that one fills with grease.  Then
periodically turns the cap to push more into the column.  A pain to get to.

Hey gang.  Coming back to the states from the C&C Rendezvous today I notice a
chirping sound that seems to be coming from the rudder post.  I opened the
cover to where the emergency rudder attaches and I could feel the chirps.  The
was also a minuscule movement as well (less than 1/32nd of an inch).  But the
steering had no additional play in it and I could not trigger the sound from
the helm.  When she as hauled out last year I confirmed that the rudder post
had no play in it at all.
I plan on inspecting the quadrant and top where it attaches.
Anyone have a clue?  Like are there actually zerc fittings on the post that I
missed?
