Finally my time to shine. I rarely sail without a beverage of some sort at hand. I second Fred's solution. I really like the larger, sturdy 4 cup mounted to the pedestal. Flashlights, sunscreen, whole wine bottles, Ipad, endless possibilities beyond the usual beverage vessel options and your drink is always at hand and stable amidship. I have extensively field tested this setup and it never fails me.
