I painted my lower boot stripe, the one above the waterline using black Brightside. I added two black stripes above that using vinyl tape made for that purpose, purchased at West Marine. I remember using 1 inch painters tape as a spacer to get them parallel.
Paint requires sanding between coats and good weather for drying. The tape was quicker and cleaner and I used a narrower tape for the cove stripe and stars. Instant shine. PoliGlow over the topsides, made them really pop. Eight years later, I am really glad to have done that project.
