George, On my 1980 40', my memory was it was an easy find. It is now plumbed into the Whale foot pump and with valves can pump it dry, get fresh or get salt water.

I have never been able to find the output of the drain line on the icebox. Where does it come out from the floorboards where I can find it- under the sink area?
