We had a guy that would race solo because no one wanted to crew for him, not because it was a solo race. He would do stuff like in a port-starboard crossing be on port but up on the bow and thus unable to change course. He would get protested out pretty early on in a lot of races and retire. We could not figure out why he bothered.
