Hello all, As I start thinking about planning for winter maintenance I think it might finally be time to overhaul and fair the center board on Wisper. She is a C&C 34 with a center board which unlike some of the larger models is rectangular in shape. I am wondering what the process is for removing the board. Have any of you removed the board on a 34 before? I am assuming there is some sort of pin through the keel - perhaps with filler in the end. Nothing is visible on the slides fo the keel to locate where this is. Do any of you have measurements? Does it go through both sides of the keel?
I suppose I'll just have to start sanding in the region to see if I can find it or the filler that is presumably used to make the keel smooth afterwards. Is the pin just a friction fit (so I can pound it out) or is it attached in some way? Thanks! Nathan ~~~ Nathan Post S/V Wisper 1981 C&C 34 CB Portland ME
