Hi Thom,

I beleive** that the raq 4 has a different version of procmail ? Although I dont
ACTUALLY know as I dont have one <g>
The nasty raq3 version definatly requires a 2711 to work **AND** at the same time
retain web access to the users "web" directory ! Sure the 700 works to get procmail
going, but as a consequence the "web" directory dies a miserable death (permissions
problems for browsers). If you have no intetions of using /users/theuser/ then 700
will do the trick !

I know coz I spent a whole grueling day messing with this because I could not find a
definitive answer anywhere. So now I know exactly what the various permissions screw
when set, and the best I could come up with during my testing and re-testing (I even
got an untainted raq owner to try it, worked first time), was the "2711" and it seems
to be the best (minimal) permission it is possible to get away with whilst retaining
the current functionality of the web directories. ;) (ohhh, and not opening them
wide up)
This 2711 works for both ".forward" and ".procmailrc" files (maybe others, didn't test
others <g>)

Did you check your "web" directory for the user (Browser / FTP), after giving the
users directory a 700 ?

MY raq3 procmail ver is: "procmail v3.13.1" maybe you could settle this once and for
all with your "procmail -v" version? I would be interested to know if its a version
difference or a setup difference that causes this ?
