Trust me it works! I have 5.6 running on my machine alongside the original
perl.  When you compile it, just use --prefix=/usr/local because the
original is installed in /usr.  hope this helps

I tried it and it DOES break all the web-admin gui stuff.  They also said 
it voids the warranty.
