Aside from the jvm for each site, are there any other draw backs? The jvm
for each site does not seem like a big deal, as long as they can
manually be disabled. Or will the manual changes cause problems.
Change being commenting out virtual site &/or context entries.
We have been using JRun 3.0 for some time now, but it is expensive when
dealing with multiple machines. Jakarta-Tomcat seems to be a more
affordable and scalable solution. Therefore we have great interest in
the JDK pkg for Raq's. We have spent some time with Apache and
Jakarata-Tomcat, and so far everything looks good.
We are about ready to make the switch and install the PKG but we have
some concerns. To begin with we already have JDK1.3.1 installed and as
it is the cobalt came with two other JRE's one with ChiliSoft and one
for ? We really have no need for the fourth.
I was considering removing the jdk rpm from the pkg file, and make
changes to the packing list and such. But the outcome is unknow
If someone could shed some light on this that would be great. It may be
several months before we have a spare RaQ to play with. Due to our
current units have several sites with Java Applications and Servlets we
cannot afford for our production units to be down.
Thanks.
