Wow, I sure seem to have sparked a lively debate! Let me clarify a few things.
First, our firm does not like to use, or promote the use of FrontPage. We use a wide variety of development tools like Dreamweaver and Homesite in our efforts. Our major focus is on web-database development using PHP or Chilisoft ASP. We only get involved with FrontPage in situations where a client wishes to use it to do some text editing or simple page layout and they request using Microsoft products. I was just trying to explain that the whole issue of FrontPage extensions versions is not a problem in most cases. I was noticing in the threads that there are many new people to the Cobalt Linux environment that were being scared off by this problem and wanted to help out. As far as a "things to avoid" list, just go to Microsoft's site and read the list of new features for FrontPage 2002. Avoid them all if you are using FP2000 extensions.
