Hi everyone,
The above patch seems to have fixed named by starting it as a new user
"named" when called from the initscripts using "start" but when "restart"
is used, /usr/sbin/ndc (name daemon control program) restarts the server
and once again causes it to be run as root user.
I'm assuming the same thing would happen if calling the initscript with
"reload" since it also uses /usr/sbin/ndc.
My fix to this is to replace the "restart" case in the initscript with:
restart)
$0 stop
$0 start
;;
Anyone know of how to fix this differently and continue to use the name
daemon control program?
