I hope someone can be of a assistance cause this is driving me insane. I have a client lets just say his domain is prismed.net
I set him up on the RaQ4 and added his DNS info. A prismed.net 10.10.10.10 A 10.10.10.10 prismed.net A www.prismed.net 10.10.10.10 A 10.10.10.10 www.prismed.net MX prismed.net prismed.net Now after that is done all is fine, then the next morning. I get a call from the client that he can not reach his site. (But he was bale to the night before) I try and access his site and BAM nothing. So as a safety precaution I delete his SOA and create new records. >From root on the RaQ I ping prismed.net and get a response, I then ping www.prismed.net and get host unknown. I shut down the dns server and restart it. Same results. Now I am curious as to why this happening, keep in mind I have 50 other accounts on this box with NO issues. I go to the etc/named directory and there I find 2 pri files. (1)pri.prismed.net (2)pri.www.prismed.net. I found that very strange. I then go into the records.conf and notice the same thing 2 pri files. I delete the pri.www.prismed.net and remove it from the records list. recycle DNS and I can now ping prismed.net and www.prismed.net. Thought I had to fixed. Got a call this AM same thing client can not access his site. Checked the named directory and wouldn't you know it the damn pri.www.prismed.net is back again, same thing in the records. Can anyone offer some assistance to this, why is this file being created, who is creating it and why won't it go away.
