We tried to install 2 x 'Apacer' 512 MB UNB PC 133 CL3 RAM modules in a brandnew RaQ 550 and apparently the machine didn't accept it. I mean: when we arrived in the datacenter, the machine was mounted in the rack, we took it out, opened it up, pulled out the 256 MB and inserted our 2 x 512 MB modules. Mounted the machine again, tried to start it up and apparently it was broken.
I have no idea if this was because of the RAM; it would surprise me. My question simply is if anyone knows which brands are compatible or more importantly, which aren't?
