Strange, my blue link has never worked correctly. Instead all blue link
notices end up as a dead.letter in /root?

hmmmmmmmmmm... did you configure the email notification correctly? Have
you looked at these files? What is the recipient of the dead letters?

Usually when that happens and I view the dead letter, I then go to
Sun/Cobalt's update site,
http://sunsolve.sun.com/patches/cobalt/raqxtr.eng.html
And the packages are there. In your case the other day the packages
weren't up yet today they are.

If you have a lokk right there it is the top entry.

Today they are, the day/time I wrote the original reply it was not
there. However it was available via ftp.

Yes, you are right. As far as i know the patch was issued on friday. I
got it on my machines on Saturday and it was listet on the patch site
at Monday.

But if i don't install the patches the warranty will become invoid.

The warranty from a software stand point is easy to void. I only care
about the warranty from a hardware standpoint. I do not think you can do
anything software wise to void the hardware warranty?
As for the software warranty, in my case I call is OS restore. Beyond
that I really am not sure what warranty you get if you do not modify
things from a software point of view?

I am sure that the new kernel is buggy, because all systems i installed it on show the
same errors / behavior.

Well, now that it's clear it is an official package can you explain in
greater detail your situation. So I can decide if I want the same
headaches.

You mentioned PHP and nothing special. Do you have any third party apps
installed like MySQL, WebMail, etc.?

Just all standard, with ssh from pkgmaster and qmail. i don't use
sendmail, but i left it on the machines. It's just not activated.
qmail may be installed without any interference on a system also containing
sendmail.

What services are you using on the XTR? Mail, FTP, Web, Db,etc.

What is your average load, CPU & more importantly memory?

What do you mean by crash. Kernel/Machine locking up becoming
unresponsive? Spontaneous re-boots, blue screen of death ;)

What was the last operation completed or run from your knowledge prior
to the crash.

What is your system config from a hardware point of view, mem, proc,
RAID?

3 and 4 drives as RAID 5; 512 MByte RAM; the machine with only 3 drives in
RAID has an extra drive as fast mail spooler only.

Along with any other details or information you can provide. Details are
greatly appreciated.
