I have not experienced RaQ4 OS not booting on a V2.9.x ROM. If the Hard drives have the RaQ4 OS on then they normally boot and run with the 2.9.x ROM, however, a RaQ4 OS restore will not work. Maybe you aren't doing a CMOS restore. My experience indicates that anytime you do a ROM upgrade, you should do a CMOS restore.
