Folks, this issue is ongoing - I can make the change that Lim Pey Foong suggests, and then it will work. However, next time I make a change in the admin screens that causes the file to be written to automatically, my modifications are lost.
Does anyone know if there's any way I can configure to stop this for good? thanks in advance, Adam. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Lim Pey Foong Sent: 22 December 2003 2:06 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [cobalt-developers] Email migration- issues with /etc/mail/aliases "No such user here" {Virus Engine Scanned} check this out /etc/mail/virtusertable they should something like that: @digerati.com.au no:user No Such user here remove this line and makemap hash virusertable < virusertable will do ---------- Original Message ----------- From: "Adam Fleet" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Cobalt Developers" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Mon, 22 Dec 2003 13:42:37 +1100 Subject: [cobalt-developers] Email migration- issues with /etc/mail/aliases "No such user here" {Virus Engine Scanned} > Hmmm - sent this to the wrong list > > -----Original Message----- > From: Adam Fleet [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 22 December 2003 12:48 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Email migration- issues with /etc/mail/aliases "No such user > here" > > Hi Folks, > > we are replacing an old Solaris machine with a new RAQ550 to act as a > mailserver for the domain digerati.com.au > > I have set up all our user accounts ok, and they test out no problem. > > I have added all the old entries to our new RAQ550's > /etc/mail/aliases file. > > A sample line: > > webadmin: afleet, lukes, prod1, [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > I then run newaliases: > > [root mail]# pwd > /etc/mail > [root mail]# newaliases > /etc/mail/aliases: 61 aliases, longest 114 bytes, 1797 bytes total > /etc/mail/aliases.majordomo: 22 aliases, longest 125 bytes, 1138 > bytes total > > which seems ok to me > > Then, I try to send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED], then email > gets to the new RAQ550, but is rejected (from /var/log/maillog:) > > Dec 22 12:20:28 vishnu sendmail[2413]: hBM1KSp02413: > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>...
