I also have this problem, I needed to use ksdevice=link. I have done one kickstart test and did not get the question.
I got the question just before retrieving the ks file.

Dick,

I am using cobbler to install HP servers that have 2 and 4 nics, and I
have not had any problems.

How far through the install process do you get before you are asked
which interface you want to use?
