I am ashamed to admit that I done this via GUI (simpler to see) but I can tell you that parent did indeed inherit the kickstart. The only issue with parent that I encountered had to do with distros.
Not sure if that helps you or not. It was before, right? I've upgraded to cobbler 2031 (cobbler-2.0.3.1-3.el5) and if I do a cobbler profile add \ --parent rhel5-x86_64 \ --name rhel5-x86_64-eth1 then the kickstart settings aren't being passed down; fwiw, it's reverting to the default from Settings. I was kinda hoping it would still be inherited, but I'm only moderately sure it was 'working' before. Am I seeing things? Sorry if it's a FAQ/Dupe. I googled; honest! - bish -- I would go postal, but I have such bad aim.
