Talking about shared storage, why not use the HekaFS or GlusterFS (both
basically the same) https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/HekaFS or
http://www.gluster.org/.  Red Hat owns it, Fedora has it OOTB.  I have tried it
at work, and based on my limited experience, it seems to be decent.
An OT: why this thread is not archived in
the http://www.mail-archive.com/cobbler@lists.fedorahosted.org/?  Anyone has an
idea?

Another interesting idea... which might or might not work is to buy a few
raspberry pi s and connect each to a HD and all of them to a fast switch. Then
use Ceph file system to do distributed storage. http://ceph.com/
