Hi COBirders,

I scanned the skies from my outpost on the West-side of Colorado
Springs, on the Dakota Hogback, from about 9:15-12:30 today. With the
upslope getting in place, I wondered what I might see moving.
Actually, with winds out of the North, not much. Those that were
heading North were mostly hugging the hogback and were well below me.
Things got real active about noon.

Seen today:
Red-tailed Hawk - 6, (4 moving North, 2 probable locals (I ad, I J)
the adult was carrying a piece of greenery for a while.
Broad-winged Hawk - 1 - had real good look at this below me, then
popped up and soared around the scar
Am Kestrel - 1
Merlin - 2, (M, F), about an hour apart
Turkey Vulture - 1
Golden Eagle - 1 (local - near "the scar"), but it also appeared low
over the ground, well below me
Cooper's Hawk -1 juvenile female
Com Raven- 3
Am Crow - 4
White-throated Swift - 8

others seen
Spotted Towhee W Scrub Jay, W Bluebird. Band-tailed Pigeon (1), WB
Nuthatch, and a plethora of Am Robins on the ground among the oaks
