The nasty west wind severely reduced the number of birds present
around the lake today. The avocets, white-faced ibis and one Marbled
Godwit remained. We did have a simultaneous flyover of a Swainson's
Hawk and a Long-billed Curlew. The Swainson's flew east with the wind
and the Curlew gave up trying to fly west and landed on a sand spit in
the Fish Creek arm of the lake. I last saw it about 10:45.
