Rob Raker and I toured Bear Creek Lake Park this morning in the mist
and found a large mixed flock of American and Lesser Goldfinches in
the thistles next to the road. We observed fledglings of both species
exhibiting fluttering wings and begging behavior. We also coaxed an
Orange-crowned Warbler, two Yellow-rumps, and a Gray Catbird from a
marshy area next to Soda Lake.
