Cherry Creek State Park this morning:

   - 30 sandhill cranes in the very SE corner of the lake
   - fly over of 400+ more cranes about 8am

Then there was the mixed bag of birds after that:

   - Peregrine Falcon herding an inflight flock of starlings before plucking
   one from the flock
      - this was interesting in the fact it was a slow and deliberate
      stalking of the starlings.
      - got them into a tight bunch and would make slow lunges at the flock
until it finally pulled one from the group
      - The starlings then followed the falcon to the ground
   - Osprey at lake Loop
   - Short-eared owls-two at lake loop?????
      - feel pretty confident in the ID after consulting the books.
      - flew as we got out of the car
      - both myself and Bob (forgot his last name) noted the smaller size
      and very short tail
      - definetely was not thinking short-eared owl that late in the morning

I am hoping others will help me confirm the owl siting.
pretty quiet on the water this morning...did not note anything other than
all the regulars.
