Hi COBirders, After a large influx of warblers at Chico Basin Ranch on Sunday, ....they left. Promising start today, but fizzled fast - and only 9 new birds were banded. We're hoping for weather that brings in more birds, and some greenery on the trees!
Banded Monday - 5 House Wrens, 1 Orange-crowned Warbler, 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet, 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch, 1 Am Robin. Also seen in the grove - a few more RB Nuthatches and RC Kinglets, W Kingbird, Bullock's Oriole, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Ladder-backed Woodpecker, and the usual Mourning Doves, Red-shafter Flickers, Blue Jays, Eur Starlings, Am Robins, and Chihuahuan Ravens. "Chico Days" on Saturday, and the road at the RR crossing IS NOW closed as advertised.
