Cobirders :

The Wood Thrush was still around HQ willows this morning and the
first year male American Redstart was relocated at Rose as well. Numbers of
waterfowl , swallows and shorebirds were well down from the weekend. A
Clark's Grebe and an adult Black-crowned Night Heron were at Upper Twin Pond
and flocks of 50 + Brewer's Sparrows were moving north through the rabbit
brush. I also heard my first Cassin's Sparrow .

Next Saturday May 8 is Chico Open Day , see their web site
_www.chicobasinranch.com_ (http://www.chicobasinranch.com) for full
description of events.
The Ranch is open also to individual birders on this day , registration
and fee payable at the HQ kiosk as normal. Access to HQ however will be via a
signposted detour via Holmes/ banding station. Birder's are welcome to
partake in the lunch of ranch raised grass-fed hamburger at the banding
station at $ 8 per person. Just let Caroline at _carol...@chicobasinranch.com_
(mailto:carol...@chicobasinranch.com) know by Friday that you will be joining
them for lunch.
