Arapahoe County:
--A Short-billed Dowitcher was reported by Stecher at Cherry Creek SP in the 
Cottonwood Creek area near Belleview on May 2 and was refound by Teuton on May 
3.
 
Bent County:
--At Tempel Grove on April 29, Duane Nelson reported a male Hooded Warbler.
 
Boulder County:
--At Greenlee Preserve in Lafayette, Floyd reported a Broad-winged Hawk and a 
singing Harris's Sparrow on April 30.  Floyd reported the Harris's Sparrow 
again on May 2.
 
Crowley County:
--A Northern Waterthrush was reported by Wild at Ordway Reservoir on May 3.
  
Delta County:
--2 Long-tailed Ducks were reported by Beason on a pond on the Paonia/Crawford 
Road on May 2.  The pond was across from Davis Road.
The ducks were see again on May 3 by Zerbi and Nicholoff.
 
Dolores County:
--A Black Phoebe was reported by Dunmire at the Bradfield Bridge on May 1.

Douglas County:
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Kingery at Castlewood Canyon SP on May 1.
 
Eagle County:
--40+ Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Filby at Spring Park Reservoir on 
April 22.  Filby has reported them almost daily through May 2.  The reservoir 
has NO public access and is viewable distantly from the road with a scope.
 
El Paso County:
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Drummond over the Woodmen Park and Ride 
in Colorado Springs on May 1.
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Burns at Hansen Nature Park (southern end 
of Fountain Creek Regional Park) on May 2.
  
El Paso/Pueblo Counties:
At Chico Basin Ranch (Fee):
--A WOOD THRUSH was reported by Percival in headquarters willows (Pueblo) on 
April 29, 30, and May 1.  Drummond reported that the WOOD THRUSH continues on 
May 3.
--A molting male Summer Tanager was found by Maraciniak by the Casita (El Paso) 
on April 29 and seen again by the horse coral by Percival on May 1.
 
Fremont County:
--On the Bluff Trail of the Canyon City Riverwalk, Rich Miller reported a 
Yellow-throated Vireo and a Black-throated Gray Warbler on May 2.
 
Jefferson County:
--8 Broad-winged Hawks were reported by Severs at the Dinosaur Ridge Hawkwatch 
on May 1.
  
Kiowa County:
--A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was reported by Truan at an abandoned farm at the 
intersection for CR 33 & L south of Eads on April 28.
--A male Purple Martin was reported by Duane Nelson on the west shore of 
Neegronda Reservoir on May 1.
 
LaPlata County:
--At Pastorius Reservoir on April 29, Allerton reported a juv plumaged 
Sanderling and a breeding plumaged Black-bellied Plover.
 
Larimer County:
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Coley by the diversion dam in Loveland on 
April 28.
--A GLOSSY IBIS was reported by Wild at Ryan's Gulch Reservoir on April 28.
--At Grandview Cemetery on May 2, Leatherman reported 3 Broad-winged Hawks and 
3 White-winged Crossbills (1m, 1f, 1juv).
 
Lincoln County:
--3 Broad-winged Hawks were reported by Carling at the Karval Mountain Plover 
Festival on April 30.  They were seen about 1/4 mile south of Karval on CR29.  
2 Broad-winged Hawks were seen on May 1.
--A SPRAGUE'S PIPIT was reported by Riffe on CR 2G south of road between CR 32 
and Hugo SWA.
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Riffe on CR 32 between CR 2G & CR 2C.
 
Logan County:
--A Red-bellied Woodpecker and 2 m Northern Cardinals were reported by Kibbe at 
Tamarack Ranch SWA on May 2.
--6 Eastern Phoebes were reported by Kibbe at S Platte River crossings between 
Iliff and Red Lion on May 2.
 
Morgan County:
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Kibbe west of Fort Morgan on May 1.
 
Mesa County:
--A Green Heron was reported by Moston on the Grand Junction Audubon Trail on 
May 1.
 
Otero County:
--A Green Heron was reported by Wild at Rocky Ford SWA on May 3.
    
Ouray County:
--A Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch was reported by Nelson at his feeders in Ouray on 
April 23.  Kent Nelson reported a Black Rosy-Finch at his feeder in Ouray on 
April 25.  On May 2, Nelson reported a Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch and 2 Black 
Rosy-Finches at his feeders and on May 3, he reported the
Black Rosy-Finch.
 
Prowers County:
--Harris's Sparrows have been present at the Paulsen's Yard in Lamar (2 on 
April 20 and 21; 4 on April 23).  Percival reported 2 Harris's Sparrow there on 
April 27 and Paulsen reported 3 Harris's Sparrows on May 1.
--At Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar:
----Leatherman reported 1 Cassin's Vireo and 1 molting male Summer Tanager on 
April 27 and April 30.
----Leatherman reported a male western Nashville Warbler on April 28, 29, and 
30.
----Leatherman reported 2 male Summer Tanagers on April 29.
--At Lamar Community College Woods: 
----On April 29 Leatherman reported a singing Northern Cardinal at the north 
end of  LCCW.
----On April 30, Boswell reported a White-eye Vireo at LCCW.
----On May 3, Wild reported 1 singing PRAIRIE WARBLER, 1 singing 
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, 1 f MOURNING WARBLER, 2 Broad-winged Hawks,
1 White-eyed Vireo, 1 Cassin's Vireo, and 1 possible BLUE-HEADED VIREO.
--At Willow Valley Subdivision in Lamar, Percival reported 2 White-winged Doves 
on April 27.
--At Thurston Reservoir Leatherman reported 1 GLOSSY IBIS, and 1 White-eyed 
Vireo on April 28.  Leatherman saw the GLOSSY IBIS again on April 29.
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Hilf near the intersection of CR 8 & W NE 
of Thurston Reservoir on May 1.

Routt County:
--3 Black-bellied Plovers in breeding plumage were reported by Dodson at the 
new wetlands at Yampa River SWA west of Hayden on May 1.  Luke reported 1 
Black-bellied Plover on May 3.
 
Washington County:
--On April 29, Walbek found a SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER on Hwy 36 near CR B and 
on May 2 Kellner refound the bird near CR B.5.  
    
May 8 and 9th Annual Spring Bird Counts:
Saturday, May 8
--Chatfield State Park:  Leader: Joey Kellner (303-978-1748)  Meet at 0600 at 
West entrance to park.  State Parks Pass required.
--Waterton, downstream:  Leader:  Hugh Kingery (303-814-2723)  Meet at 0600 at 
Audubon Center/Discovery Pavilion (left turn immediately after turning from 
Wadsworth onto Waterton/Roxborough Road and before DOW parking lot for Waterton 
Canyon.  4-5 mile hike.  Wear long pants due to unfriendly vegetation.  
--Barr Lake State Park:  Leader:  Dick Schottler (303-278-8035)  Call leader if 
you plan to go.  Meet at 0600 at RMBO.  Exit I-76 at Bromley Lane; go east 
about 1/4 mile and turn right (south) on Lark Bunting Lane, go to end of road.  
This is a ten-mile, all-day hike around the lake.  State Parks pass required.
--Barr Lake periphery:  Leader:  Jackie King (303-287-1644).  Meet at 0730 on 
access road to entrance station to Barr Lake State Park.  Good for people with 
limited mobility.
--Cherokee Ranch:  Leader:  Lynn Willcockson (303-757-7000) Call leader for

--Lower Bear Creek:  Leader:  Mike Henwood (303-716-8551), cell 720-840-5070).  
 Meet at 0600 at parking lot on Morrison Road at C470, NW corner, next to 
Conoco Station.
 
Sunday, May 9:
--Castlewood Canyon State Park:  Leader:  Randy Lentz (303-680-3381).  Meet at 
0630 at old entrance.  From CO 86, 0.5 miles west of Franktown, turn south on 
Castlewood Canyon Road, go 2 miles to old entrance.  State Parks Pass required.
--Rocky Mountain Arsenal:  Leader:  Urling Kingery (303-814-2733)
 
Monday, May 10:
--Cherry Creek Reservoir:  Leader: Bob Brown (303-791-6204).  Meet at 0630 at 
the Marina on west side.  State Parks Pass required.
