Dear Cobirders,
Another slow day at Twin Lakes. Mike Blatchley and I walked the
east-west path early and found lower numbers of Yellow-rumped Warblers than in
previous days. A handful of Orange-crowned Warblers and at least two Yellow
Warblers rounded out the Warbler mix. The far eastern area contained two
Lazulli Buntings and one Brewer's Sparrow. No sign of the Black Phoebe,
White-throated Sparrow or Indigo Bunting from yesterday. On the way back past
the westernmost Twin Lake, Mike looked up to see a white "Flicker"; once it had
alighted, we both realized it was a Red-headed Woodpecker. Hopefully the
birding will pick up again with the stormy weather in the next few days.

Cheers,
Walter Szeliga
