Saw some newly-fledged Western Bluebirds Sunday AM in Bear Creek Park,
sw Colo. Springs. They were hanging around the trees by the athletic
field on the north, 3-4 of them flying around together from tree to
tree. Not making any sounds that I could hear, and no parent seemed
to be nearby. Figure they must have hatched from one of the boxes
nearby -- there are a few in Bear Creek Park, also some on the
Stratton Open Space a little further south.
At any rate, it was nice to see the youngsters thriving so far.
