this site are in the CFO website under Colorado County Birding.
--On October 30 Ted Floyd found a winter plumage RED PHALAROPE on Baseline
Reservoir. It was seen again by many observers on Halloween, usually in the SW
corner, but far out in mid-lake by 3 PM. Kaempfer reports a Surf Scoter for
Baseline on the 31st.
--On October 31 Floyd found a Lesser Black-backed Gull at Prince Lake number 1,
which is at the southeast corner of Arapahoe and 287.

Douglas County:
-- Walbek found a Pacific Loon at "Rampart" Reservoir on the 29th. The formal
name for this Reservoir is "Aurora-Rampart Range Reservoir" (but it is NOT in
Aurora), and it is located near the entrance of Roxborough State Park, which is
south of Chatfield Reservoir. From the corner of Titan Road and North
Roxborough Park Road, go south on North Roxborough Park Road, continuing as it
bends to the west. Take the next left onto a little road called Roxborough
Drive. Go south a short distance to where you can scan the lake.
--(See other bird reports for Chatfield Reservoir under "Jefferson/Douglas").

Huerfano County:
-- Pauli and Paul Neldner had a bonanza day on October 30 at Lathrop State
Park, west of Walsenberg, with Long-tailed Duck at Martin Lake, Pacific Loon at
Horseshoe Reservoir and Surf Scoter at La Veta Town Lake.
Peterson's group found these birds independently, and also saw a Red-necked
Grebe at Martin.

Jefferson County:
-- A Golden-crowned Sparrow continued at the Red Rocks Trading Post through
October 31. A White-throated Sparrow was last seen there on Oct 28. Consider
taking birdseed if you go, to keep the feeders full.
--A CURVE-BILLED THRASHER, rare in Jefferson County, was found by Chavez on
October 27 at the Red Rocks Trading Post, then seen again on October 28 and by
Kilpatrick on October 31.
--At Chatfield (Jefferson/Douglas) Walbek reports 2 Black Scoters, a Pacfic
Loon and a Lesser Black-backed Gull). A DUNLIN was initially found by
Stachowiak, searched for in vain, then seen again by Wild at the tip of the
marina sandspit.

Larimer County:

-- Wild saw a CHIHUAHUAN RAVEN, rare in Larimer, fly over Tinmath Reservoir on
October 27.
-- Leatherman birded at Tinmath Reservoir on 10/29, where among other birds he
found a Ross's Goose, Barrow's Goldeneye and 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
Access to Tinmath is from CR 40 about a mile west of the Larimer/Weld County
Line. Go north from CR 40 into a large parking lot and scan from there or a
little east.
-- On October 30 Leatherman led a birding group through Grandview Cemetery in
Fort Collins, where two juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers were seen, but were
not found on Halloween.

Las Animas County:
-- In Trinidad Pat Snider saw a White-winged Dove on October 25 in her yard at
1200 Santa Fe Trail, which is at the corner of Jefferson and Santa Fe Trail.
Birders are welcome to comb the neighborhood in search of the dove.

Montrose County:
-- Brenda Wright posted exciting news - the first West Slope record for an INCA
DOVE, at her feeder in Nucla at 233 East Fifth Avenue on October 28. The dove
was not seen on October 29, alas.

Park County:
-- Joey Kellner and Dan Maynard independently found 5 Tundra Swans at Spinney
Reservoir on Oct 31, as well as 2 White-winged and 2 Surf Scoters and a Pacific
Loon at Antero Reservoir and 3 Surf Scoters at Clear Lake.

31 and at Eleven Mile Reservoir, 2 Surf Scoters on Oct 30).

Pueblo County:
-- Percival reports two female plumage Surf Scoters and one female plumage
Black Scoter at Pueblo Reservoir off the Sailboard Launching area on October
28.
--On October 29 Silverman discovered a Winter Wren in Colorado City. He and
Percival saw the skulking wren on October 30 along Greenhorn Creek east of the
diversion gate. Photos were thought to confirm the ID as an "Eastern" Winter
Wren. The Carolina Wren seen a few days ago was not re-found, but may still be
lurking.

Weld County:
--Bill Fink found a Pacific Loon at Union Reservoir on October 31.
--Pauli Smith saw TWO MALE HOODED WARBLERS feeding in a Russian Olive in her
yard in the Highland Lake/Mead area on October 29. They allowed close approach.
Details of the field marks were provided during a follow-up contact. Pauli
Smith has photographed this handsome warbler in her yard in the past. This is a
late date, but there are records of this warbler into late November.
--Mammoser found a Winter Wren (eastern) at Crow Valley Campground on 10/31. It
was 15 yards north of the south fenceline and 75 yards east of the group picnic
