I looked out toward my brick patio a few minutes ago and saw a thrush just a few feet away from my sliding glass door. It was scratching in the leaves. I couldn't believe my eyes, for it was a Wood Thrush! I kept trying to make the large spots, which extended down onto the belly, smaller and the tail reddish, so that it would be the more likely Hermit Thrush. I crawled across the carpet to get my camera and then crawled toward the bird. I will upload the images to my computer. Unfortunately, I didn't as close an image as I would have liked, but perhaps the thrush will return.
