Just to clarify as of 1:45 the Black-legged Kittiwake was still being seen by birders. The swan which was with geese at the sailboat launch area at the east end of the lake (was at the west end) is a Tundra Swan. The 2 juv Long-tailed Ducks were still present as well as a Common Loon and 2 Thayer's Gulls (adult and juvenile). The dark 'M' on the back of the kittiwake was much less prominent than a typical first winter kittiwake (appearing almost absent in certain angles). The gray nape patch was visible, but the black neck band appeared absent, suggesting that the bird is a subadult in its second winter. Cole Wild Loveland
