The following are preliminary estimates and for the Christmas Count but wanted to get info out on the great birds that were found. Lisa Clements was this years count organizer and did a great job.
The count held on Saturday Dec 18 found some excellent birds even tho the fog was thick all day and bird activity was subdued. A total of 13 persons participated. Best birds were Merlin, Blue-winged Teal, Black, Brown and Gray Crowned Rosy Finches, Kingfisher, Hooded Merganser, Brown Creeper, and Brewer's Blackbird. There are probably more but this is what I heard so far. Good job to all teams. The Sand Dunes count was also held the same day, but have not heard any results yet.
