On March 6, Nuissl reported that the TUNDRA SWAN was again at Cottonwood Marsh. Cheyenne County: --Lapland Longspurs were reported by Deininger north of Wild Horse on March 4. Custer County: --A possible YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Rich Miller on Greenwood Road in Wetmore on March 12. Delta County: --4 TRUMPETER SWANS were reported by Robinsong a Sweitzer Lake on March 13. Denver County: --A female Long-tailed Duck was reported by Andrews on Smith Lake (north lake) of Washington Park on February 26. She was with Common Goldeneyes in the NE part of the lake. On March 5, Keithler reported that the Long-tailed Duck was still on Smith Lake in Washington Park. --On March 7, a possible YELLOW-EYED JUNCO was seen by Cookie Spatafora feeding with American Goldfinches at feeders on the north side of the building at 4700 Holly. This would be a new state bird if confirmed. Birders can view the feeders from the NW corner of the building behind a chain link fence. You might also want to check the ground since it cannot be seen from inside the office. Douglas County: --The pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes continue at Twenty Mile Pond on March 4 as reported by Kingery. Directions: From the main intersection in Parker, go west toward Cherry Creek on 8Parker Main Street; at Twenty-Mile Road just before Cherry Creek turn left, and then right into the parking lot. Douglas/Jefferson Counties --On March 11, Walbek reported a 1-st cyc Glaucous Gull and a possible 1-st cyc Kumlien ICELAND GULL on ice at the Platte River Delta in Chatfield. Eagle County: --Twelve Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by McConnell on the Fryingpan River near Seven Castles on March 7. They were between MM 5 & 6 on Fryingpan River Road. Fremont County: --2 Harris's Sparrows were reported by Moss feeding along CR 119 east of Florence on March 7. Huerfano County: --On March 8, Nelder reported Harris's Sparrow and White-winged Doves in her yard. Contact her at pollyw...@gmail.com if you want to try to see the birds. Jefferson County:. --On March 13, Henwood reported Curve-billed Thrasher, White-throated Sparrow and Harris's Sparrow at Red Rocks Trading Post. --On March 5, Sanders reported a male Barrow's Goldeneye in the Wheatridge Greenbelt. It was on the second pond east of Youngfield Parking Lot on the south side of Clear Creek. Larimer County: --2 Winter Wrens were reported by Wild at the Environmental Learning Center in Fort Collins on March 4. --On March 6, Leatherman reported that the ad and juv YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS were back in their usual spots at Grandview Cemetery. The ad was in the Pine Grove east of the porta potty in the SW corner and the juv in Scots Pine in the NE corner. On March 10, Leatherman reported that both the ad male and juv YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS were in the Austrian Pine Grove east of the porta potty in the SW corner of Grandview. On March 11, Leatherman reported that the juv YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was in a Scots Pine in the NE section of Grandview - Section M. On March 13, Teuton reported that the ad male YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was seen in the SW corner of Grandview Cemetery. --2 Glaucous Gulls were reported by Wild on March 8 on a pond at the Ready Mix Cement Company on Namaqua Road in Loveland. One was a 1-st winter and 1 ad. --2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (1 ad, 1-st cycle) were reported by Komar at Warren Lake on March 13. Pueblo County: --Black Phoebes were reported by Chartier at Valco Ponds west parking lot in Pueblo on March 12. Routt County: --A flock of 14 Bohemian Waxwings was reported by Williams just south of Lake Catamount on March 7.
