Please ignore the Dinosaur Ridge reports posted on Cobirds today for March 13,
14 and 15. These reports were generated from the Hawkcount data web site, but
were transmitted in a format that distorted the reports. We believe the problem
has been corrected for future reports. More background below for those who want
it.

For the past two years, Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory has been working with a
corps of volunteers to provide coverage at the Dinosaur Ridge hawk watching
site. Data from the site is entered on the Hawkcount website maintained by
Hawkcount.org and the Hawk Migration Association of North America. The web site
allows the administrator to have the daily counts automatically sent to
designated emails. To provide timely daily reports to Cobirds, RMBO biologist
Jeff Birek designated Cobirds to receive the reports. Initially reports weren't
coming through to Cobirds, and Tim Smart contacted Hawkcount. Their
administrator resolved the communication link to Cobirds. Unfortunately, the
initial reports were in a "language" that distorted the data. Tim has again
contacted Hawkcount his evening, and we believe this problem has been corrected.

Once the reporting process is working smoothly, those who enjoy following the
hawkwatch site should be able to receive timely reports through Cobirds.
