Mountain plover were present today in the burned area west of Rd 69 along the
birding tour route. Heading west from the beginning of the tour on 96, go 4
miles. Where the route turns right, go straight instead, up the hill. Two
pairs were on the right within the first quarter mile and a third pair about a
half mile farther. The burn is extensive and there are likely more present.
