I birded a very birdy Chatfield today, after looking for Baird's Sparrow at Cherry Creek. Both locations had double digit Western Kingbirds, Western Tanagers, Lark Sparrows and Lark Buntings, with Vesper Sparrows and Chipping Sparrows likely in the hundreds and swallows in the billions. On the marina sandspit at Chatfield, I found a Caspian Tern, Semipalmated Plover, Whimbrel, Marbled Godwit, Sanderling and several Semipalmated Sandpipers and Least Sandpipers.
