The word our birding hobby is reaching the four corners of Colorado, with a nice article by reporter, Darci Tomky, in the Holyoke Enterprise of Phillips County. While I cannot provide a direct link to the article, which includes stunning photos by Walbek, Kellner, etc, you can readily find it by entering "Holyoke Enterprise," then look for "Recent articles" and "Phillips County birds take hobby to new heights." If you know of a town in Colorado with a weekly newspaper looking for human interest stories, you might consider contacting a reporter who could scribe a similar article and spread the word about all aspects of birding. For example, Darci Tomky's mom was instantly hooked on birding and knows to contact me when she sees a Cerulean Warbler or a Wood Stork. We might even find a new member for the CFO, a subscriber to Cobirds, an atlaser or budding photographer that way. Plus such publicity might make it easier to explain to someone in a small town why you are gazing at their sewage pond.
