Greetings All,
I spent a couple hours before and after work walking around L Estes. Highlights were a Blue Jay near the visitor center, an adult Black-crowned Night Heron spooked by Elk from Pine Point (were the Bay-breasted Warbler was) and a Bobolink, incredibly tame male, along the lakeside (not below the dam, where the habitat looks good). As for migrants, a small flock of mobile Yellow Warblers seemed to fit the bill. Little else did. The other highlight was a mother Moose and a 3/4 grown youngster walking down the trail like pedestrians early in the morning. The Elk did not like the Moose about, and ran the two off.
