LE CONTE'S SPARROW (Pueblo)

Adams County:
--On September 17, McBurney banded an imm f Nashville Warbler at the
Barr  Lake Banding Station.
--McBurney banded a Tennessee Warbler on September 22 at the Barr Lake
Banding Station.

Arapahoe County:
--A Blackpoll Warbler was found by Lentz at Cherry Creek on September
17.  The warbler was in trees along the shoreline north of swim beach.
--A RED PHALAROPE and 4 Sabine's Gulls (1ad, 3 juv) were reported by
Walbetk at Cherry Creek SP on September 21.  On September 22, Chavez
reported 2 Sabine's Gulls (1ad, 1 juv) at Cherry Creek.

Boulder County:
--On September 15, Nunes reported 9 juv RED PHALAROPE at Boulder
Reservoir.  Roller reported that the RED PHALAROPES continue at Boulder
Reservoir on September 17.  Teuton reported that a juv RED PHALAROPE
continues at Boulder Reservoir on September 18.  On September 19,
Lewis reported that the RED PHALAROPE continued at Boulder Reservoir.
On September 20, Sanders reported that the RED PHALROPE was in the NW
corner of Boulder Reservoir.
--A juv Sabine's Gull was reported by Floyd at Boulder Reservoir on
September 21.
--A Cassin's Kingbird was reported by Floyd along 115th St South of
Oxford Road.  On September 19, Deininger refound the Cassin's Kingbird
in the same area.

Douglas/Jefferson Counties:
--2 juv Sabine's Gulls were reported by Walbek at Chatfield on
September 14 and Walbek reported that the Sabine's Gulls remained at
Chatfield on September 15.  On September 17, Kellner reported 7
Sabine's Gulls (6 juv, 1 ad) at Chatfield.  On September 18,
Stachowiak reported 4 juv Sabine's Gulls at Chatfield.  On September
20, Walbek reported 9 Sabine's Gulls (8 juv, 1 ad) at Chatfield.

El Paso County:
--A juv American Golden-Plover and juv Sabine's Gull were reported by
Peterson at Big Johnson on September 18.
--A Chestnut-sided Warbler was banded by Elwonger at Clear Springs
Ranch on September 22.

El Paso/Pueblo Counties:
--Brown reported a hatch year Ovenbird was banded at Chico Basin Ranch
on September 13.  On September 17, Brown reported that the Ovenbird
banded earlier was recaptured and another Ovenbird was banded.  Webber
reported on September 19 that another Ovenbird was banded at Chico
Basin Ranch.
--At Chico Basin Ranch on September 14 Bill Maynard reported a
Chestnut-sided Warbler above the banding station.
--Brown reported that the female Chestnut-sided Warbler continues at
Holmes Grove and near the banding station on September 16.
--A probable juv LE CONTE'S SPARROW was reported by Bill Maynard at
Chico Basin Ranch (Pueblo) on September 17.
--A WOOD THRUSH was found by Bill Maynard near the banding station at
Chico Basin on September 21 and Brown reported that the thrush was
later caught and banded.

Fremont County:
--A Green Heron was reported by Moss in Florence River Park on September 19.

LaPlata County:
--A Tennessee Warbler was reported by Allerton on the Animas River
Trail behind Four Corner's River Sports on September 16 and Allerton
reports that the Tennessee Warbler continues on September 18 at the
same spot.
--Morris reported 9 ACORN WOODPECKERS at the Rafter J Subdivision in
Durango on September 17.
--An ad Summer Tanager was found by Heather Morris at the Durango Fish
Hatchery on September 20.  It was in a Cottonwood to the South (Left)
of the DOW office on the front side of the hatchery.

Larimer County:
--A male Prothonotary Warbler was reported by Matthews at the east end
of the bird sanctuary at Lake Estes on September 16.  Wild reported
that the Prothonotary Warbler was east of the sanctuary on the north
side of Lake Estes on September 17.  On September 18, Gobris reported
that the Prothonotary Warbler was across the Paved trail opposite the
footpath that leads to Pine Point.  On September 19, Roller reported
the Pronthonotary Warbler in the Pine Grove.  On September 20,
Matthews reported that the Prothonotary Warbler was at the edge of the
last past the point.  On September 21, Matthews reported that the
Prothonotary Warbler was glimpsed between 10 and 11 am.  On September
22, Shade reported the Prothonotary Warbler just past Pine Point.
--A first fall m Magnolia Warlber was reported by Mammoser SE of
Fisherman's Parking Area at end of Sharp Point Drive in Fort Collins
on September 16.  Park in the area for Fisherman, walk east along the
paved trail through the riparian area until trees thin and Poudre
River comes close to the trail.
--2 lst-cyc Sabine's Gulls were reported by Leatherman and the DFO
field trip at Timnath Reservoir on September 17.  Wild reported 2
Sabine's Gulls at Timnath on September 20.
--A calling SPRAGUE'S PIPIT was reported by Wild near Timnath
Reservoir at the intersection of CR 40 and County Line Road on
September 18.
--A Northern Parula was reported by Biggerstaff at Dixon Reservoir on
September 21 and 22.

Las Animas County:
--A White-winged Dove was reported by Snider in her yard in Trinidad
on September 19.  Her address is 1200 Santa Fe Trail.

Logan/Sedgwick Counties:
--2 Sabine's Gulls were reported by Arp at Jumbo Reservoir on September 21.

Mesa County:
--A Green Heron was reported by Arnold at the Redland Parkway North
Pond on September 20.

Morgan County:
--2 juv Sabine's Gulls were reported by Mlodinow at Jackson SP on September 17.
--2 Cassin's Kingbirds were reported by Kellner at Jackson on September 18.
--A LEAST BITTERN was found by Erthal at Andrick SWA which is SW of
Jackson on CR 2 on September 18.

Park County:
--A juv light morph LONG-TAILED JAEGER was reported by Peterson at
Antero Reservoir on September 20.  Take the south entrance which is
CR78 west of dam.
--A RED PHALAROPE was reported by Bill Maynard at Antero Reservoir off
the point by the camping area on September 20.
--On September 21, Wild relocated the RED PHALAROPE and LONG-TAILED
JAEGER.  He also
reported 1 juv Sabine's Gull and American Golden Plover at Antero Reservoir.

Pueblo County:
--On September 17, Percival reported a juv Sabine's Gull at Pueblo
Reservoir off the Sailboard Launching Area.
--In Rock Canyon, Percival reported 1 Eastern Phoebe and 2 Black
Phoebes on September 17.
--At Valco Ponds, Percival reported 3 Eastern Phoebes and 2 Black
Phoebes on September 17.
--At Turkey Creek on the west side of Pueblo Reservoir, Percival
reported 2 Cassin's Kingbirds on September 17.
--A Black-and-white Warbler was reported by Percival at the extreme E
end of Osprey Picnic Area in Rock Canyon on September 20.

Washington County:
--At Prewitt on September 17, Mlodinow reported 2 juv Sabine's Gulls,
Short-billed Dowitcher, Eastern Phoebe, Great Crested Flycatcher,
Blackpoll Warbler, Tennessee Warbler, and Nashville Warbler.  The
gulls and dowitcher were in the SW corner of the reservoir.  The Great
Crested Flycatcher, Eastern Phoebe and Blackpoll Warbler were at the
inlet canal, and Tennessee Warbler was below the dam.
--At the Akron Golf Course near the wooded bridge at the base of the
lake, Mlodinow reported Palm Warbler and Black-and-white Warbler on
September 17.
--At the Akron Golf Club Park Pond on September 18, Kellner reported
BLUE-HEADED VIREO and Eastern Phoebe.
--At Prewitt on September 18, Kellner reported juv Short-billed
Dowitcher and Ovenbird.

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, September 24 will be to Chatfield
State Park led by Ed Holub (303-979-2194).  Meet the leader at 0800 at
the swim beach parking lot.  Inside the west entrace of park off S.
Wadsworth, 1.5 miles south of C-470.  Half day trip.  State parks pass
required.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, September 25 will be to Cherry Creek
State Park led by Mary Keithler (303-771-1421).   Meet the leader at
0800 at the west Marina off the Dayton St. entrance.  Half day trip.
Bring snacks, water, binoculars, and scope.  State Parks pass
required.
