Hi CoBirders! We've had a couple interesting waves of birds over the past 2 banding days, an influx of Chipping Sparrows on Saturday, and one of Hermit Thrush today.
For Saturday 9/24: Least Flycatcher- 1 Gray Flycatcher- 1 Plumbeous Vireo- 1 Rock Wren- 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet- 4 Townsend's Solitaire- 3 Hermit Thrush- 1 Gray Catbird- 1 Northern Mockingbird- 1 Orange-crowned Warbler- 1 Common Yellowthroat- 1 (first of season) Wilson's Warbler- 9 Western Tanager- 1 Green-tailed Towhee- 1 Chipping Sparrow- 33 Song Sparrow- 1 (first of season) Lincoln's Sparrow- 2 Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow- 1 Pink-sided Junco- 2 For Today (9/26) Sharp-shinned Hawk- 2 Hammond's Flycatcher- 1 Cordilleran Flycatcher- 1 Blue Jay- 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet- 1 Townsend's Solitaire- 1 Hermit Thrush- 21 Gray Catbird- 2 Brown Thrasher- 3 Tennessee Warbler- 1 (first of season) Orange-crowned Warbler- 1 Wilson's Warbler- 12 Chipping Sparrow- 2 Pink-sided Junco- 2 That brings our season totals to 740 individuals banded of 58 species.
