This morning I saw a male NORTHERN CARDINAL and a female SUMMER TANAGER west of the Valco Ponds parking lot, between the parking lot and the fish hatchery ponds. Other birds of some interest in the ValcoPonds/Rock Canyon area today were: Red-naped Sapsucker, Spotted Sandpiper, Black Phoebe, Gray Catbird, 2 Hermit Thrush, Clay-colored Sparrow, Wilson's Warbler, Townsend's Solitaire, Western Tanager, Osprey, Lincoln's Sparrow.
