Sorry for the late post, but Bob just reminded me! Mary and I stopped at Duck and Ferni Lakes after the DFO board meeting at DMNS on Wed. Trees on the island in Duck L were full of nesting Double-crested Cormorants. Dozens of Snowy Egrets were on the little island in Ferni L and flying to feed along the SE shore of that lake. We saw one adult Black-crowned Night-Heron fly from Duck to Ferni L, so there are probably more. Mary is leading a DFO rookery trip to these lakes and Parker on Thurs so we will have more time to scope it.
