Hi all,
Monday in the Roaring Fork Valley: Bright, sunny early morning gave way to snow, hail and moderately heavy rain this afternoon, clearing by this evening. Looks like quite a lot of fresh snow higher up, above 9,500 feet. Decidedly chilly "down here" ! Just as the rain set in, the Harris's yard (rural Carbondale) briefly hosted a 1st summer male Summer Tanager, and their neighbor, Jim, hosted a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak briefly too. Other arrivals included many more Black-chinned and Broad-tailed Hummingbirds, along with Western Tanagers, Black-headed Grosbeaks, and Bullock's Orioles.
