I birded around the eastern part of the San Luis Valley today. Of note, at
least 8 Black Terns (Alamosa Cty) were along the eastern end of the auto tour
loop of the Alamosa NWR. This is a suspected breeding location that is
monitored by RMBO. This year there is water present and a strong possibility
those birds plan to nest there. May be more than 8 too. SW Willow Flycatcher
(one) was along the walking trail there as well. An adult Peregrine Falcon was
soaring and looking like he was ready for a noontime catch.

Two male lark buntings were along the Rd 6N between Mosca and the Sand Dunes
(Alamosa Cty).

Great hearing all the birds on territory singing their hearts out!
