Hi cobirders,

I am admittedly weak on my gull i.d.'s. However, yesterday as we were
leaving a friend's house outside of Oak Creek, CO, we drove past Stagecoach
Reservoir, and on the extensive mudflats were many gulls. As one took to
flight, I got a great look at it and would call it a Sabine's. There are
just not many likely candidates with that distinctive wing pattern.

When it landed, quite a distance from me, the profile looked right. I am
familiar with the Kittiwakes after living in Norway and traveling to
Denmark from there.

Someone more knowledgeable from that area might want to check it out.

How's that for hedging?

Regards,
