Today at about 1:45, we saw an interesting flock of raptors on the move along County Road 301 just a bit north of the Fisherman's Bridge parking area along the Arkansas River. Zell counted 2 light-morph Rough-legged Hawks, 2 dark-morph Rough-legged Hawks, 8 Red-tailed Hawks, and 1 sub-adult Golden Eagle all looking for a thermal. I recall Tony's saying (many years ago) that Roughies generally showed up here in early to mid-Nov., so this struck us as a tad early for these northerners.
