I had my first Mountain Chickadee at the feeders this morning; it seemed early,
and a little unusual only because last winter I did not see any. Usually they
are here in winter along with the Black Capped Chickadees. I have been gone
for several weeks and missed the snow storm, so maybe they came down at that
time and are just staying. Another different activity is that the House
Finches have discovered the suet feeder after years of only eating the
sunflower and safflower seeds and totally ignoring the suet. -Elena Klaver,
